Ceebs , Do you think I will ever receive my order? It is infinitely more useful to have 2 hives with the same size/type of frames. I have not cancelled my credit card payment yet.

I have 2 top bar hives (from Bee Thinking in Oregon) You may have 2 pretty simple problems to fix: be really careful when handling bars not to stress the comb attachment, and attach loose comb using a clamp-type hair clip and zipper ties. I live in Marina del Rey, work full time and have no time available until Saturday afternoon. Nan ODonnell 310-804-7066

Try to Slow down and don’t be in a hurry. Sit down near your house and let the curious bees buzz you. Breathe deeply and exhale! bees don’t like CO2 in your breath. Don’t expect to rile up the bees and take off your suit right away.

I have an adult size large suit with nice embroidered bees, that is too tight on me: 5’5″ 150 lb that I will sell for $30. I wear a ventilated suit from Mann Lake now that is nice and loose.

That’s great news. I just started carrying my suit, tools and swarm box in my car. I’m on the lookout for a swarm.

Wow, I read the whole manual and the idea is brilliant. I am amazed that the posts and wire can hold so much weight.

I have spent over $600 for a bee suit, hive tools and a top bar hive. I have been reading and attending trainings for about a year. I’m still pre-bee, so I expect to have another $100 or so for individual consulting / mentoring from experienced beeks. I found out too late that a swarm was murdered on my block in June, and I ‘ve since spoken to the home owner. She says bees have swarmed to her mailbox a couple of times in the past 10 years, and she will call me if she sees another swarm.
