We use these bootbands up at the Sanctuary (they help a little):

Best bet for ankle protection though is boots! Rain Boots, Cowboy Boots… any kind of boot =)

Just make sure you put it on the right way =)

I think it was in the book “Plan Bee” – she told a story about how she put the bee escape on upside down… and all the bees got trapped upstairs.

That is one of the greatest things about beekeeping, you get immediate feedback when you screw up =)

I found that hive through the nonprofit “Baltimore Honey” – They keep all of their bees in those hives.
