Hi everyone,
I’m looking for honey to buy from local beekeepers (Los Angeles if possible).
Thanks!
I’m new to the group — sorry if this note is in the wrong section.
Thanks,
DavidDecember 16, 2013 at 9:05 am #7404Chelsea McFarlandKeymasterHi David!

A good rule of thumb for purchasing honey is “know your beekeeper.” That way you have personal knowledge of the ethics of the honey and whether or not that adorable little muth jar has recently been filled from a gallon-sized whatever from Costco.

Josip Benko, one of our most experienced beeks and keeping a large apiary for honey production, sells his honey for $125 a gallon. I sell my honey for 30 a quart. This is a premium product and you and the bees work hard for it.
May 2, 2014 at 10:20 pm #8473DavidParticipantHi Elisha,
I’d like to buy your honey. Please contact me off-list. Text 323-487-2747 or send a note to davidcaring@gmail.com.
Thanks,

I recently obtained a certificate of organic registration from the state for honey, produce, and eggs to sell to a local cheese shop. I would like to know if there is anything else that I need to obtain and what is the legality? Can I be liable or is there anything I can do to protect myself legally? This is just a fun little hobby on the side and I would hate to put my assets at risk.
Thank you! -
