I have a friend who can make one using a wooden nuc, you supply the vac.
Costco has a small shop vac for $30 that works well with it.

Check sporting goods stores. They are usually called gaiters.

(I may be one of the few on this list familiar with the term “spats”, it is not something the younger generation has heard.)

Looks good but how big a ladder will you need when the Langs hive has three more supers on it?. I suppose that by the time you would have that many supers you would have switched to one method or the other instead of this mixture.
