Eric YoungParticipant
I have empty mediums now, but if I can pick up a deep–I might give you a call. Thanks.
Eric YoungParticipantI spoke to the person needing the rescue today. He was hoping someone might volunteer to do the cut out. Since I have never done one–I had to turn it down. But if someone goes and needs help–just let me know.
Eric YoungParticipantI live in North Hollywood and am close to Glendale
Eric YoungParticipantI am looking for a swarm. And since I have empty hive boxes with no comb–I would be happy to help on a cut out. Unfortunately, I work during the day and this next Saturday in the morning. But I could help Saturday afternoon and/or Sunday if this cut–out could occur then.
If helping does not work–I would still be interested in taking the cut out hive. My number is 818-391-6447. Eric
Eric YoungParticipantI want to give my thanks to Susan also. I picked up my swarm just last week, and I have been worried to death that my bees will leave. So far I still see a few each day and all seems well. I will feel a lot better in a couple of weeks and I can see a lot of comb.
Thanks again,
Eric YoungParticipantA special Thanks to Susan for keeping me in mind. I am so happy to have a swarm and hope I can keep them happy so they stay. And I am looking forward to ensuring I maintain the level of competence you have described throughout this thread. I am pretty certain everyone in my neighborhood will be happy to have a hive of bees around. But no one will be happy if I neglect to care for them. And I appreciate your efforts to explain the importance of this on my forum post.
Thanks again,

Eric YoungParticipantI totally appreciate the concern. I would have removed this post–given the concerns you expressed, but I do not seem to have that ability.
Eric YoungParticipantSusan;
You are so right, and I probably should not have posted like that. I have to look up the names, but I did read several books on beekeeping, and I attended as many of the beekeeping meetings I could since last spring. Last year I bought two hive boxes and read alot and hoped to get a swarm and it did not happen. I even tried to attract local bees as best I could and cultivate my vegetable gardens with bees included in my planning.
What I can do is try to get this posting down and take your advice about following the digest–rather than post like I did. Thanks for knocking some sense in me:)
