Hi Susan, sorry about the mix up. I am actually not a member of the club. I kinda just wandered in from your feed on Instagram.

Before I attempt to answer, I would like to ask a few questions:

1. Are the bees making comb?
2. Are there any queen cells?
3. What was the time between the first swarm and when you moved the combs around?
4. What type of bees? (AHB, European, etc?)
5. Are you seeing honey/nectar/pollen/eggs in the cells?

Initially I would have to say that getting a new box will not rectify your problem. There seems to be environmental factors at play here, as the bees’ behaviour is directly affected by them being moved. I can answer alot more specifically after you answer the questions I’ve provided. Cheers 🙂

She may have also been doing her orientation flights. All virgin queens make several of these flights before their mating flight.
