Beeks—I went to the 2013 conference in Cottage Grove, Oregon, which was FABULOUS! ( just ask Ceebs or Kirk, as they went, too) This year’s conference is being held at Kat and David’s farm, which will offer even more interesting insights to the working of a diversified, small scale, organic farm being worked by a Belgian draft horse team! They are NOT quite ready to begin taking registrations, but you can take a look at the farm and the venues where the speakers will present and the general ambiance of the place here http://www.blisshoneybees.org/2014-Conference.html
The registration will be limited to 75 this year, so my guess is it will fill up fast. Going to bee conferences is one of the most fun activities of being involved in the beek community and ratchets up your learning dramatically. You spend long hours in conversation with beeks from all over the world, exchanging questions and answers, you make lots of new friends and often see them at various conferences many times over, you eat good food and are able to “pick the brains” of the gurus of beekeeping in convivial style, and you get to sing and listen to the fine music of Michael Bush and Sam Comfort on their guitars and ukeleles in the evenings. It’s great! Both are fine singers/musicians. So, take a look Susan
