I was making herbal tea last night and added pure, never heated local honey, as well as cinnamon to the tea afterwards. While drinking the tea I had noticed that the there was a gooey substance similar to the consistency of mucus(snot) from your nose, towards the bottom of the cup. The honey is was purchased in a glass jar as a solid substance. Can anyone tell me what this substance is? I can post pictures later if a visual aid is needed. Thanks in advance for all your help!
Hi Adam,
When a blob of solid (crystalized) honey melts, it ends up looking the way you describe. Just stir it into your tea and drink as planned.
If you like local honey, have a look at our selection here.
Best wishes,
David
