Tagged: hive relocation
I’m posting here on behalf of John Lyons, fellow beekeeper and owner of the Woven Garden:
Beekeepers in Los Angeles. I have an established hive (2 years plus) in my back yard that needs to go. It is in a swarm box. Simply pick up and move in early evening. I would suggest moving it into a proper hive once the bees settle into your garden. Please cross share post. Call John Lyons at 323 793-3139
Just want to elaborate on this for any newbees not in the know. These bees, occupying a swarm trap for 2 years will probably have a lot of twisted wonky combs and being very crowded, likely pretty pissy. Do not take this project on without expert guidance in doing a cutout and how to properly frame up combs
Very true. Expert guidance is required.
