I am posting information about this as the partnership is so critical for our fruit trees to produce. Just read of the pollination of a Fuerte avocado, caged with a small colony of bees and a control without bee pollination. In the first case, 120 fruits developed, in the second case, 5 fruits developed.

I have attended lectures by Tom Spellman over the years and he is a fabulous instructor. This is a chance for a hands on workshop and not far away (the Dave Wilson nursery headquarters is in mid-state)

    I am definitely going Susan

Summer Pruning Workshop with DWN’s (Dave Wilson Nursery) Tom Spellman

    Where:
    Tri-City Community Garden Orchard
    2008 North Gary Avenue
    Pomona, CA US 91767
    When:
    August 15, 2014 — Friday — 8am
    Information:
    (909) 931-2458 or <tom@davewilson.com> ————— This is a workshop not a lecture. Learn by doing. Bring your pruning shears and loppers. Wear comfortable shoes, summer clothing and sun protection. ————— Focus on the art of pruning for small spaces and backyard orcharding, including espaliered structures. Tom’s “learn-as-you-prune” workshop will help you develop your own orcharding know-how while also providing a service to the trees at the Tri-City Community Garden.
