Home › Forums › HoneyLove Forum › Cithy of Thousand Oaks has ordered by bees removed :(
I have been beekeeping in Thousand Oaks, (Newbury Park), for approx 1.5 years. I got my start at a HoneyLove seminar and am really enjoying the life of a beekeeper. I have 4 hives 3 of which are ferral swarm captures. I had my first significant honey harvest several weeks ago. I own a home which backs to open space, (COSCA), with my lot being almost a half acre. My bees are at the top of a hill not colser than 50 yards from the nearest home. They are living on a mountain of sage essentially with thier flight pattern comming no where near any of the neighborhood. Someone reported my hives to the City of T.O. and I have now been told I must remove them within 30 days.
I am so dissapointed! Does anyone have any advise or suggestions on any sort of remedy? Has anyone yet started a campaign a change of ords. in the City OF Thousandy Oaks? Any help would be much apprecaited! Cheers
