I have a strong hive–3 deeps–that has had a queen, but had apparently decided to replace her, for on March 18, they had made 3 supercedure cells. On Mar. 25, the old queen was still there, laying eggs, open brood, and the 3 QCs were there. By April 1 the 3 SS cells were torn down, still had a laying queen and on the 10th I saw a virgin queen and the laying queen and a new SS cell. I wonder why they drew this new QC? Checking today, the 18th, saw both queens on the same frame, now looking fully mated. How will this play out? I have a queenless nuc, so will add one of the queens to it.
