The LA Co bee inspector, Conrad, dropped in by Lawndale today. My hive is missing temporarily due to a termite issue. He was still interested in seeing the site and we had good visit. Nice man who listens and easy to talk to. He will be welcomed back. If you have a hive, in any city or the county, register them. They keep track of the hives and bee activity. They do not report the hive to your particular city if you are in a delicate bee approval area.
Yes! I registered my sole hive last week, and Conrad stopped by this morning to meet me and my bees.
He made some observations and gave me some tips, but definitely did _NOT_ present himself as a regulator or law enforcement person (though he did show up in full uniform).
