Tagged: wax bugs
I discovered little ant-sized critters rummaging around in my bag of saved beeswax. They don’t look like wax beetles but there sure are a lot of them. I put the bag in the freezer to kill them off. What should I be doing differently to store my wax? I’m saving up to make candles.

Freezing is the best way to go, bug-wise. Were the bugs present when you harvested? Got any photos to share?
YEs, freezing is the only way to kill eggs and adults surviving in the wax. Then, you must seal in zip lock bags.
