Beeks—seems all my students that can work on a weekday are out of the state at the time this job is scheduled. Josip Benko and I are doing a big job in the wall of a old garage, built 1912, in Manhattan Beach. Bees have bee in it at least 10 years. Would someone wanting education in doing bee colony cutouts want to get mentored in this opportunity? We need a extra set of hands to frame the combs. You will see a good bee vac in process, opening of walls, cutting of brood combs and framing to place in the hive bodies. You will need a full suit and gloves. Please call me if you are interested for the date Tuesday, July 28, starting 8 am.

Hey Susan, I tried your phone number but no answer or voice mail. Hence, trying this. I will also try your email. I am definitely up for doing this cut-out with you. I have a full suit and gloves and can be available on Tuesday. I am, however, a total newbie if that is an issue.

I can help on Tuesday. I spoke with you on the phone earlier. I have a lot of tools, including a sawzall, pry bars, circular saw, 4-1/2 grinder with various cutting disks, drills, let me know what you might want.

I need to get bees with some brood for my hives, so I believe I should bring one box of empty frames, with two covers, a cinching strap to keep the bees in…anything else? Should I bring my smoker?

Hi, Mark—Good! No tools necessary—Josip and I have all that is needed. Bring a hive body with empty frames (no comb guides or foundation or wires) bottom board, top board, Yes, ratchet straps (2 is best) and a way to close the entrance—piece of wood, screen etc. Bring a full suit, gloves, veil, boots. 589 36th st, Manhattan Beach 90266, 8 am.
