HOBOS (Honeybee Online Studies)

This is a really cool site. HOBOS (Honeybee Online Studies) is a Würzburg honeybees project that Prof. Dr. Jürgen Tautz developed as an interactive school concept since 2006 and forwards. Worldwide everyone can pursue on the Internet with microchips equipped bees and the inner workings of a beehive and numerous readings from the environment (weather, vegetation, soil). So show many important for the human aspects of ecology. Several sponsors support HOBOS. HRH Princess Basmabint Ali of Jordan represents as patroness HOBOS. The sustainable non-profit project has already received several awards, including the UNESCO.

The site is in German but if you open it in Chrome, you will be given the opportunity to have it translated. There is a live feed of the hive entrance as well as cameras inside the hive.
