Hi! I’m in Palos Verdes, and I just found out about HoneyLove! I’m nearing 2 years with bees, after a second cutout from the wall of my unused chicken coop in May of 2014. (The first cutout, in 2011, went to Topanga). This one I kept!

My sole colony is now on its 4th queen (long story!) and coming out of winter verrrrry slowly. I’m not sure why, because the local 4H hive, less than 0.5 mile from me, has capped honey already, and my colony hasn’t even filled out its brood box.
I’ve done two sugar shakes over the last 3 weeks, and I counted 1 mite and 0 mites, respectively, so I don’t think I have a mite problem. Conrad, from LA County Ag, stopped by this morning and declared me negative for SHB and wax moths, too, so I don’t have the common parasites.
Does anyone else here on HoneyLove live near PV? Anyone willing to come by and take a look? Thanks!
