I live in the Pacific Palisades and I have two empty hives waiting for bees. I have participated in HoneyLove events and I have been mentored and hope it continues. My location is ideal for bees and meets city requirements. I have all the basic beekeeper stuff…. I’m replacing a 40 plus year old hive that I bought with the house that collapsed from rot while on my watch. 🙁
Roberta—You should come to the next symposium meeting for more info on catching swarm, baiting, space management, etc. The following month will be the country ag inspector, also important info to stay in compliance.
ceebs..
Hi, Roberta! I will be doing the presentation at the end of March on the topics Ceebs wrote above. I have 8 students I mentor and help them get their first hives, often as a cutout experience. Is your mentor not helping you get your first bee colony? Write us back Susan
Thank you..I’ll be there.
Roberta, are you still looking for bees? I just posted something in the forum about my friend having a swarm in her yard. If you’re still looking, let me know.
